I feel like one of my biggest hobbies is just exploring. I like just jumping in my car and exploring all the different trails around the area. In the first year after I moved here I realized how important it is to own a vehicle that is caplabe of some off roading. I then decided to trade my sedan for an 4Runner. Being able to access some of the more worn or rugged forest roads allowed me to explore a lot of Central Oregon. Driving out and finding new trails became a fun past time and I try to get out there as much as possible. I enjoy using an app called Onxoffroad to find new trails. Driving to the top of buttes to have a picknick or into the woods where my dogs can run free without bothering anyone is so much fun.
Owning my 4runner came with the option to customize it to make my exploring more comfortable. I did perfomr some upgrades to make the car more capable and to protect it from potential damage. Growing up as a huge car fanatic I always enjoyed customizing and modifying my cars, so I am happy that offroading also has options to customize ones car to better suit my exploring. There is soo much information out there for toyota truck modification, I find myself reading posts on t4r.org when searching for customization ideas.
I have a dream of doing a trail in Colorado called Black Bear Pass before my 4Runner has to be sold or stops being drivable
